Decorating Your Child's Bedroom With Area Rugs
You can't decorate a child's bedroom the same as an adults, it would be very boring if you did. Plus a child's room will normally be a lot messier than that of an adult, with toys all around. Most of the time the child's room will stay this way; they don't always listen and pick up everything. That's because not only will your child be sleeping in the bedroom but a lot of the time they will play there too. This is why when you pick out an area rug for the children's room you need to go about it differently.
Children as they grow up will go through different things they like and don't like. This is the same when it comes to what kind of theme they have in their bedrooms. When you take this into consideration you should really think of a rug that may last through several different themes easily, or buying an area rug that isn't very much money. Plus a child is a lot harder on a rug because they will drag in dirt from outside and they are playing on the rug a lot of the time they are in their room.
You also don't want to make the rug you buy be too large. The larger the rug the harder it will be to shake out crumbs and remove the toys from to clean it up. Plus a smaller rug will naturally hold less dirt than a larger one would.
You should always make sure that you get a rug that will resist stains. Even if it is stain resistant you may want to get some extra stain resistant products to put on the rug, children can be messing.
Sticking with the idea that your child will soon change what they like, if you stick with a colored rug with no picture on it, you may have a rug that can make it through a few changes before needing to be replaced. Of course you should let your child pick what they want when they are old enough, because they are the ones who are looking at it more often.
To summarize, area rugs in your child's bedroom must be small in size, inexpensive, stain-resistant, and relatively cute in design. Small means that it collects much less dirt and more room to play around in. Inexpensive rugs leave you with little regret if your child accidentally damages the rug. Stain-resistant ones mean that they'll be easier to clean, and the cute design means that it'll look prettier in the room. Thinking about what rug to decorate your child's room with doesn't have to be too daunting nor difficult a task, ask him what he likes too -after all, it IS his room.
