Carpet cleaning and rug cleaning can be two different things. The composition of many rugs is different from that of carpet and you often need a different type of machine to do the cleaning. If you have a house full of rugs, you better be sure the machine you buy will do a good job on rugs before you make your purchase. Also, some machines are better for dealing with pet hairs so you need to take that into consideration.
